TIPS ON MUSIC THEORY G MAJOR

Basics

  • Understanding the G major scale (simplify)
    • The Major scale -is made up of 7 notes:G-A-B-C-D-E-F# and back to. G
  • Each note has a number attached to it 

*(no matter what key the numbers don’t change!)

  • This system is known as the number system this is the secret sauce!!!(footnote the numbers beside the letters or notes are the number of note or letter in the scale).

The number system – is a type of language musicians uses to compose music, create progressions and fluently play along with other musicians. 

  • Now as a Pianist beat maker/producer understanding this musical language allows you to be intentional, ease the fear of creative block/beat block and gives you the ability to create in any genre!
  • All the major notes (happy notes) in the. G major scale are the G1-C4 and the D 5
    •  Big Gem 💎 in all major scales the 1-4 and the 5 will always be major!
    • Now the A2-B3-E6 and the F#7 are minor (sad/dark notes)

Each chord has 2 inversion or in other word another version of itself (picture yourself you in two different outfits l, it’s still you just dressed in a different way to give you a different

 look 👀 in this case a different sound!)

  • Each note 📝 musically leads to another note (the tones sonically and tonally lead to each other and have a relationship between the notes).
    • These relationships create patterns and progressions throughout music then and know (knowing how to utilizes this help eliminate beat-block alone) ps: This will enables you to make your music sound a lot more complex with a simple concept.
  • All 12-note circle of fifths
    • Here is All 12 notes that lead to each other starting with C
      • G to C to /A# to Eb/D# to Ab/G# to Db/C# to Gb/F# to B to E to A to D to G back to C
    • Here is the circle fifths within the G major scale also using the number system.
      • F#7 to B3 to E6 to A2 to D5 to G1 to C4
